The program begins in June and runs through the following March.
Student attendance is mandatory at camp, rehearsals, techs, and performances. Unexcused absences from Tech Rehearsals will prevent a student from performing in the show.
Each student is allowed 2 excused absences per session. If more than 2 absences occur during a session, it will influence casting and your ability to participate in the show. If an extended rehearsal or camp day is missed, each miss counts as two absences.
Each student is allowed no more than 5 excused absences in their School of Performing Arts technique class.
Your attendance and behavior may influence casting and your ability to participate in the performances at the Director’s discretion.
All students should arrive 10 minutes prior to class.
Costumes are the property of Mt. Zion Youth Theatre and are to remain on site at all times. Additional accessories are the responsibility of the student.
Proper attire is required to participate in class.
Each student will need their own make-up kit.
The use of cell phones is prohibited during class, rehearsals, and performances.
An informational meeting will be held for parents regarding the Youth Theatre program on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 7pm in Aud B.

Youth Theatre is a comprehensive program which includes camp as well as performances in October and March. Participation is mandatory in these events. Unexcused absences from Tech Rehearsals will prevent a student from performing in the show.
Parents are expected to volunteer 3 times during each session. Options include tech, costuming, set building, and strike. Or, three times during each set of performances – October and March. If a family has forfeited their commitment deposit during the October show, a new $50 commitment fee will be assessed prior to auditions for the March performance.
Parents are invited to attend the performances. Auditions and rehearsals are restricted to students and teachers only.
If your student runs into a problem with a teacher or another student, please approach the teacher first to discuss the situation. If you still feel the issue has not been resolved, please contact the theatre director.
